THAT GOLDEN LIGHT

We're in the midst of summer, and I myself am in the middle of my vacation. Four glorious weeks free from work. Living in Sweden's damn awesome sometimes, 25 days payed vacation a year is a pretty sweet deal.
Summer here is so brief though; the season is short enough as it is, but the weather is as impredictable as a drunken unicorn! It'll be bright and sunny one day, just to be cloudy and almost galeforce winds the next.
I'm an incredibly restless person though, and summer has already started to loose its shine to me, and I'm really looking forward to autumn. Summer is a lazy season, I'm always more active during the rest of the year.
I had a brief disscussion with a customer in the store before I went on vacation. The pre-fall collection had started to arrive, and all the staff were excited about it. The customer remarked that she felt it was too soon, she couldn't quite enjoy her summer because she felt stressed by the stores always "rushing" the seasonal change. I suppose, from her point of view it might feel that way, but for those who work in fashion retail, its a wonderful change of scenery, after having stared atthe same damn collections for months.
Right now, even though I'm really enjoying the sun and the warmth, I am also looking forward to the best part of autumn; the fashion! Here are some goodies from my Pinterest Board "Chilly Fashion":

BABY BABY

We're having the most amazing spring weather today, the sun is beaming, the birds are having a sing-off right outside the (oh my GOD, they're so dirty!) windows, it definetly feels like spring is on it's way!
I'm heading of to my Dad's babyshower (yeah I know, I'm 29 and I'm getting a babybrother real soon!). Babyshowers aren't really a thing in Sweden, so I have no idea what to expect. The mother is my dad's filipino wife, a really sweet lady, so I'm sure it will be a nice event. I got them two adorable bodys from our babyline "Newbie" at work:

Making my virgin voyage, ordering from overseas from lovely bohemian shop Free People. This beautiful flowy dress and a cute iPhone case should hopefully be arriving before the end of next week, unhopefully after the holidays. Let's cross our fingers!

GETTING CREATIVE

I've been searching high and low for a perfect pair of dyed/bleached jeans, like these, but they are from teh childrens department and as such nothing I could squeeze my sizable bottom into!

So, I've been scouring the web for neat DIYs on how to to this yoruself, and came across this blog, where the author has done some pretty cool DIYing with old jeans. Unfortunetly the entire blog is in spanish and google translate is doing a rather horrible job making it understandable! I suppose I'll just have to get some supplies and start experimenting on my own!

THE MINIMALIST PRINCESS

Young Swedish blogger Victoria Törngren is despite her years quite the accomplished dresser. She favors a minimalistic style with clean lines and she pulls it off gorgeously!

LA REINE BOHÉME

I currently have a HUGE style crush on spanish blogger Madame de Rosa, "the queen of bohemian". She has a supreme sense of bohemian style, with a touch of sexyness and playful attitude. (looove the neon heels!)

MUSE

You know how you sometimes stumble upon a person who possesses some mad skill that just blows you away, makes you starryeyed and in awe of their amazingness? Ya, that happened to me today. I was just minding my own business, on the prowl for inspiration to add to my ever growing fashionfolder.
This woman's a bloody genious, I can't believe how perfect her sense of style is!  I'm still looking through her vast album of superb looks over at chicisimo but I had to stop and just pray at her altar a bit, albeit from my blog. Cara, my dear, your lovliness is only surpassed by your freakishly gorgeous fashion sense! Oh, and the hair.
I suppose I should hate you for beeing so beautiful, but it's not in my nature to hate the divine, so have some love instead.

TULLE - HOW TO WEAR IT

Whenever I see anything tulle, I go all starry eyed and transform into an urban princess who'd love nothign better than to wear frothy dresses and sprakly tiaras all day, every day. Seeing as such a style would not only be inconvienient (I see myself trying to get on the buss, pressing a mountain of layered, whispering fabric through the glassdoors), but also a bit too girly in the end, there are certainly ways to do the tulle skirt in chic ways.I don't mean those ridiculous miniskirts the tweens wear, I mean real tulleskirts!

Mias Guide to Looking Chic in Tulle

We'll start out with my favorite look! I LOVE this Sartorialist streetstyle shot! A tone on tone sweater, a pair of timeless shades and a bohemian braided up-do - who know that this paired with a tulleskirt could look so ladylike cool and sophisticated?!

URBAN

Dressing the tulle skirt down is quite easy, but making it a bit more edgy is slightly challenging. The key is to pair it a bitdisrespectfully with garments that are the dreamy tulleskirts opposite, and to our aid though, we bring out the denimshirt and to loose fit t-shirt! Tuck it in at the waist or leave out but nip with a belt, and you're immediatly a bit more urban and modern. Pulling the skirt down to hip level and knotting the t-shirt on one side, will also be a neat trick. Match with heels and pearls to stay feminine, or bring out the bikerjacket and some leather boots for more rock and roll.

 AT THE OFFICE

Taking the meringue dreamskirt to the office? The dress shirt is your friend! Tuck in at the wait and snip it with a clean looking belt, or pull a cahsmere knit over the shirt and don a statement necklace for a chic yet properly prim attire. And don't forget the blazer, she loves hanging out with your shirts! Do take care to pick a delicate one though, a heavy blazer might make you too stocky, so mind to keep it nipped at the waist.

CASUAL

Love your skirt so much you want to wear it getting a coffe with your girlfriends or going shopping downtown? Go cute and relaxed and mix it up with an oversized sweater in a bold color or a tone on tone nuance, matched with a pair of flats, loose hairdo and a big tote for a sweet and casual look.

DAYTIME PARTY

Going to a daytime party gives you every chance to take old fluffy out of the closet. A cute sweater of good quality and apair of colored heels will add up to one gorgeous look when matched with the right accessories. If you feel a bit more rock than posh, put on a sweet tank and ring out the that worn leather jacket to give it some edge!

WINTER

Winter means less tulle time, right? Wrong! Go for a darker color though, and match it up with a blouse and brightly hued tights - it will liven up the dark and dreary hours of winter in no time!
